Messaging platform status: private development and controlled pilot preparation. Public merchant onboarding is not yet open. hello@nigeriafaces.com
Built for African commerce

AI sales infrastructure for everyday businesses.

Our messaging platform gives a merchant one assistant that answers customer questions, quotes real prices, captures orders and hands the conversation to a human the moment it needs one — inside the messaging apps customers already use.

Merchants keep their own number Human takeover by design Built and hosted in-house
Nigeria-first Designed around local pricing, delivery and network realities.
Multi-tenant Each business keeps its own data, catalogue and workflows.
Business-specific Trained on one merchant's catalogue — not a general chatbot.
Human-controlled Staff can pause automation and take over any conversation.
The platform

A digital sales representative, built around the merchant.

Most small businesses in Nigeria lose sales in the gap between a customer's question and a staff member's reply. Bamaja closes that gap without asking the merchant to build or run any technology.

Knows the business

Trained on one catalogue

Each merchant's assistant works only from that merchant's products, prices, delivery rules, policies and service instructions. Nothing is shared between businesses.

Does the work

Answers, advises, captures orders

It responds to enquiries, recommends alternatives when something is out of stock, collects delivery details and records the order for the merchant to fulfil.

Knows its limits

Escalates to a human

Complaints, refunds, negotiation and anything outside its knowledge are routed to staff. The merchant can also take over any conversation at any moment.

Messaging platform use

What we do with the WhatsApp Business Platform, stated plainly.

Bamaja is building this platform to connect to the official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) as a technology provider acting on behalf of merchants who choose to connect their own WhatsApp Business Account. This section describes exactly what that involves.

Permissions are requested only for the functions described. We do not request access to a merchant's personal Facebook profile, friends, ads or unrelated business assets.
Permission Why the platform needs it
whatsapp_business_messaging To receive customer messages sent to the merchant's connected number and send the merchant's replies — the core of the assistant.
whatsapp_business_management To register the merchant's phone number, read its connected WhatsApp Business Account details, and manage message templates the merchant has approved.
business_management To complete Embedded Signup, so the merchant can link their own Business Portfolio during onboarding without sharing passwords with us.
Consent

Customers opt in first

Merchants must obtain customer opt-in before messaging, and every customer can ask to stop at any time. The platform records and honours those requests.

Scope

No bulk or unsolicited messaging

The platform is built for one-to-one service conversations a customer started or agreed to. It is not a broadcast, marketing-blast or cold-outreach tool.

Data

Held only as long as needed

Message content is processed to produce a reply and kept so merchants can review their own conversation history. Customer data is never sold. Deletion is available on request.

Planned architecture

Official connectivity, customer-owned assets.

The target production model is a direct, Bamaja-owned Meta application with Embedded Signup, connecting merchants who retain full ownership of their own WhatsApp Business Accounts.

The merchant owns their identity Phone number, Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account stay in the merchant's name and under the merchant's control.
Bamaja owns the technology We operate the Meta application, the onboarding flow, the AI workflows, the merchant dashboard and the hosting infrastructure.
No mandatory reseller in the middle Connectivity is planned through the official Cloud API rather than a third-party gateway charging per message on top.

How a message travels

Customer Messages the merchant from ordinary WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business — nothing to install.
Merchant's business account The merchant's own number, identity, templates and account controls.
Cloud API Official message delivery, webhook events, templates and platform policy enforcement.
Bamaja platform Catalogue lookup, reply generation, order capture, analytics and handover to staff.
Ownership model

Clear boundaries from the beginning.

The production model is designed to avoid ambiguity, vendor lock-in and consultant-owned customer assets.

Questions

What partners and reviewers usually ask.

No. The messaging platform is in private development and controlled pilot preparation. Public merchant onboarding has not opened. Bamaja’s other products, listed above, are live.
No. Bamaja Integrated Online Services Limited claims no affiliation with, endorsement by, or partnership with Meta Platforms, Inc. or WhatsApp. We are preparing an application to use the official platform in the normal way, alongside every other developer.
The merchant does. The phone number, Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account remain registered to the merchant, and the merchant can disconnect from us and keep them. Our role is to supply the technology platform and the authorised business workflows on top.
No. Customers message the business from ordinary WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business as they already do. Platform eligibility applies to the merchant account being connected, never to the customer.
Merchant data is logically separated per business. Message content is processed to generate replies and retained so merchants can review their own history. Data is not sold or shared for advertising. Handling follows the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and is described in full in our privacy policy.
